KMEA OPPORTUNITY

As we wrap up the most challenging year in our history and look forward to renewed opportunities for our students in the upcoming school year, the KMEA Executive Committee and Board of Directors are determined to promote and support music education in our Commonwealth with a new energy and focus. We are committed to providing excellent performance opportunities for students and celebrating their accomplishments accordingly.

In the same spirit of renewal, we are requesting ideas for a new, updated logo for our organization. There are no preconceived notions; we simply want a design that visually communicates Kentucky Music Education. We hope that our new logo will be used as a basis for event-specific branding for major KMEA functions, including our Professional Development Conference, All-State Ensembles, Assessment and State Marching Band events. Ideas for both our main and event-specific logos are encouraged. We want to take our time and do this right, and we may well find elements of multiple submissions that we incorporate into our final products. In appreciation for the winning submission, KMEA will allow the design winner(s) to choose a school music program as the recipient of a $250 donation. Our plan is to take the winning design(s) and have them professionally developed into our branding materials.

Please submit ideas in PDF, JPG, JPEG, EPS, or TIF format to [email protected] by noon Eastern Time on Friday, June 18. Include your name and contact information in the email. Submissions are welcome from students, teachers, and all supporters of Kentucky music education. We have a lot of creative talent in our Commonwealth; now let’s put it to work!
