No School Until April 6: Superintendent’s and Director’s Comments on Closing

Therefore, Oldham County Schools will be closed until we reopen on Monday, April 6. Child enrichment centers must also be closed starting March 16 to prevent community spread. Please look for further instruction regarding Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) assignments to be communicated on Monday, March 16. The Oldham County Schools Nutrition Department will provide information on Friday, March 13 on the plan to continue providing meals during this two week closure.

Director’s Comments Regarding School Closure from Mr. Rogers

Band Members and Parents,

Per Superintendent Schultz (today, 1:36 p.m.) ALL events in Oldham County Schools requiring an audience are postponed through Spring break, April 5.

Band students have been asked to arrange for instruments and music to be transported home TODAY, March 12th in anticipation of a decision on school closing.  If we are in school on Monday, they can bring them back at that time; if not, they will need them to complete alternative learning assignments.

The Phi Beta Mu festival at Male HS (Symphonic Band I) was a casualty of the virus this morning, so Saturday’s event will not be held, nor will it be rescheduled.

No decision has been made on KMEA festival for next week, but based on this information and the fact that the event is held in Oldham County (NOHS), it doesn’t look good.  More to come as information is confirmed.

Sorry to bring all this news to you.  Wash your hands, stay away if you feel badly, use common sense…
